Next Saturday, 7 November, at 4:00 pm, the Municipal Library invites families to join another edition of Contos ao Sábado (Saturday Storytime), featuring a storytelling and dramatisation session of “A Delfina Queria Jogar Futebol” (Delfina Wanted to Play Football), presented by the book's author, Filipe Amante.
The session will also feature the book's illustrator, Yana Marques, who will create an illustration live during the activity, inviting children to take part and let their imaginations run free.
“A Delfina Queria Jogar Futebol” tells the story of an unconventional and determined girl who would rather play football than play with dolls or skip rope. Despite her family's initial reservations, as they were not particularly keen on muddy clothes or scraped knees, Delfina's passion for the sport eventually wins everyone over. Through commitment, dedication and perseverance, the young player reaches the highest levels of football, even going on to win the Champions League.
Filipe Amante, a Vila do Conde resident and dentist by profession, drew inspiration from his children, Tomás and Rodrigo, to write this book, which promotes values such as equal opportunities, perseverance and the pursuit of one's dreams.
Admission is free, but advance registration is required. Sign up at the Library reception desk, by calling 252 240 040 or emailing biblioteca@cm-viladoconde.pt.
Come and enjoy an afternoon filled with stories, illustration and family fun!
