Villa Organi Cycle – Concert VI

Next Friday, the Villa Organi cycle will feature Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750), one of the greatest figures in music history, in a concert dedicated to the expressive richness and architectural rigor of his organ writing.

From the monumental Passacaglia in C minor, BWV 582, to the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565, passing through the delicate Pastorella in F major, BWV 590, and the devotional chorale preludes “Liebster Jesu, wir sind hier”, BWV 730 and 731, this recital invites the audience to experience an essential and timeless repertoire.

At the Church of Misericórdia of Vila do Conde (Igreja da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde), the resident organist André Bandeira will perform this program, exploring the unique tonal qualities of the historic organ and the Klop positive organ.
