The Vila do Conde Municipal Theatre will host a special event dedicated to solidarity through music, featuring a lively and diverse repertoire of Iberian and Latin American songs, on 4 July at 5:00 p.m.
Organised by the Association of Former Members of the University of Porto Choir (AAOUP), under the patronage of the Municipality of Vila do Conde and with the support of the University of Porto, the International Charity Concert of Veteran Tunas – Vila do Conde brings together male and female veteran tunas from Portugal and Galicia. This musical collaboration aims to raise funds for the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde, supporting the valuable social work carried out by this historic charitable institution.

The Association of Former Members of the University of Porto Choir (AAOUP) is a public-interest cultural institution founded in 1967. For more than half a century, it has promoted intense musical and cultural activity inspired by the choral values of friendship and solidarity towards those in need. It maintains a close connection with the University of Porto, the academic community and, in particular, the century-old University Choir of Porto (OUP), of which it serves as a living legacy.
As a cultural outreach organisation of the University of Porto, AAOUP is composed of former students, most of whom were members of the OUP during their university years. Its artistic activities include the Choir of Former Members of the University of Porto, the Fado Group, the Tango Orchestra, Regional Folk Dances and the Pauliteiros de Miranda, the Vintage Tuna (Veteran Female Tuna) and the Porto Veteran Tuna. Throughout the year, these groups perform in concerts and events associated with charitable and fundraising causes.
In addition to its artistic and musical activities, AAOUP develops a wide range of social and cultural initiatives, including the Orfeonic Family Christmas Dinner and the AAOUP Lecture Series, both of which are among its most significant annual events.
