On Saturday, June 27, at 5:00 PM, the exhibition “Uma Reflexão Poética Aumentada – 140 years of Joaquim Moreira da Silva” opens at Casa Antero de Quental.
This is a set of multimedia works developed by students and teachers from ESMAD – School of Media Arts and Design, as part of the Municipality’s official programme marking the centenary of the birth of the “poet-carpenter”.
Based on readings of the work, thought, and imagery of Joaquim Moreira da Silva – a unique figure in Portuguese poetry and popular culture, born in the parish of Vilar, Vila do Conde – the exhibition presents a series of conceptual, creative, and experimental exercises that seek to extend the poet’s language beyond the page, allowing it to inhabit space, objects, and the sensory experience of the audience.
Using Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Virtual Reality technologies, the exhibition builds a bridge between literary memory and technological experimentation, proposing poetry as an open material that can be read, heard, seen, and symbolically touched, activated through the encounter with the public.
The presentation at Casa Antero de Quental carries particular symbolic significance, as it brings together literary heritage, digital creation, and technological imagination, embracing the venue’s vocation as a place of encounter dedicated to literature, poetry, writing arts, and free creative thought.
