From 5 to 26 September, the Municipal Auditorium hosts Memories, an exhibition by Manuel Graf that invites us to explore the territories of remembrance, where the past becomes present and each image preserves a lived moment.
Through painting and drawing, the artist revisits faces, places, experiences and fragments of life, in an evocative journey where memory emerges as a place of permanence, emotion and identity.
With an artistic career spanning more than six decades, Manuel Graf, particularly renowned as a portrait artist, presents an exhibition that creates a dialogue between the past, the present and hope for the future, reminding us that what we have lived and loved often remains through art.
A student of great masters at the Porto School of Fine Arts, and with a career that also encompasses music, set design and design, Manuel Graf presents an exhibition deeply connected to the passage of time and to what endures.
As Fernando Pessoa wrote:
“Memories of thinking live in me.”
And perhaps this is precisely the essence of the exhibition: the ability of art to preserve what time cannot erase.
