The Video Animation Workshop invites the community to actively participate in creating audiovisual content associated with the Queima do Judas performance. Throughout the workshop, participants will be introduced to the basics of animation cinema, explore different techniques and creative processes, and be encouraged to develop their own animations.
This community art project blends multiple disciplines—drawing, painting, sculpture, animation, video, and sound—engaging two local community groups, children and adults, in a shared, intergenerational creative process. Starting from a common script, the work progresses through arts and crafts sessions where characters and sets are created, followed by animation workshops in which these elements come to life, and sound exploration workshops dedicated to recording voices, environments, and sound effects.
The animations produced will be incorporated into various communication media and the performance itself, including the promotional spot, reinforcing the participatory nature of the project and valuing the community as creators of artistic and visual content.
