In 2017, a wildfire broke out in Pedrógão Grande (Leiria District), killing 66 people and causing enormous material damage, becoming the deadliest fire ever recorded in Portugal. The fire started at 2:43 PM on June 17, in the village of Escalos Fundeiros, and quickly spread to the municipalities of Castanheira de Pêra and Figueiró dos Vinhos. By nightfall that same day, 19 fatalities had already been reported, a number that was updated in the following hours and days, ultimately reaching 66 dead and 253 injured, along with the destruction of approximately 500 homes and 50 businesses.
This tragic event shook the country and left many families devastated. Against this backdrop of devastation and grief, the film follows several characters as they struggle to regain some sense of normalcy.
