During the school holidays, the José Régio House Museum invites children and young people to explore the world of literature, art and creativity!
Through a variety of fun and educational activities, participants will discover the work and legacy of José Régio in an engaging and interactive way.
PROGRAMME
7 & 10 JULY
Dolls that Tell Women’s Stories
In this visual arts workshop, participants will discover the female figures featured in José Régio’s work and reflect on their stories, personalities and emotions. Inspired by these characters, they will create a papier-mâché doll, artistically bringing to life the women imagined by the writer while exploring the connection between literature, memory and creative expression.
8 JULY
A Collector’s Treasures
In this decoupage workshop, participants will paint and decorate a wooden box using the napkin technique, inspired by José Régio’s passion for collecting and the importance of preserving memories, objects and stories.
9 JULY
Discover José Régio Through Comics
In this creative writing workshop, participants will explore the life and work of José Régio through the world of comics, creating stories, characters and narratives inspired by the author.
14 & 16 JULY
My Little Ceramic House
A visual arts workshop in which participants will model small houses using cold porcelain clay, exploring creativity, imagination and the meaning of home as a place of memories and stories.
15 JULY
Sea, Shells and Conches
In this poetry workshop, participants will discover poems inspired by the sea and create an artwork using shells and conches, combining words, nature and artistic expression.
17 JULY
Poetry Picnic in “Uncle Régio’s” Garden
At this poetry-themed gathering, participants will bake and take home very special and unique biscuits to celebrate the end of the summer activities at José Régio House. It is an invitation to share a special moment with children and adults alike, enjoying poetry-flavoured biscuits in the poet’s garden.
