The Dance Marathon is a co-production between the School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE), Ventos e Tempestades – Cultural Association, and the Municipal Auditorium of Vila do Conde. It aims to promote dance as an artistic expression in its various dimensions: choreographic research/forms of expression, community engagement, and educational outreach.

In this third edition, the Dance Marathon continues to benefit from the High Patronage of the Vila do Conde City Council and is themed “The Values of April” — freedom, equality, fraternity, critical thinking, among others.
