School holidays are a perfect opportunity to explore new environments where education blends with fun. The Christmas Holiday Program at the Vila do Conde Museum offers a varied schedule with workshops and themed visits across its different centres, promoting moments of discovery, interaction, and adventure.
17 DEC – Christmas Cards
Participants are invited to dive into the festive universe by creating unique and personalised Christmas cards. Inspired by poetry, imagination, and objects from the author’s home, each participant will experiment with different illustration, collage, and graphic composition techniques to bring to life messages full of colour, affection, and creativity. In the end, each card becomes a small work of art ready to be offered to someone special — a poetic and handcrafted way to celebrate the Christmas spirit.
18 DEC – Christmas Poetry Choir
Casa de José Régio opens its doors to the musicality of words, inviting children aged 6 to 12 to give voice to Christmas poetry. Through vocal games, expressive reading and small performances, participants will discover how to transform Christmas poems and rhymes into a small choir filled with rhythm, emotion, and festive joy. Inspired by the poetic atmosphere of the house and the creative spirit of José Régio, this workshop offers an engaging experience where poetry comes to life through children’s voices, culminating in a brief final presentation to celebrate the magic of Christmas.
19 DEC – Uncle Régio’s Christmas Village
At Casa de José Régio, participants are invited to embrace the festive spirit by creating charming paper Christmas houses. Inspired by the cosy atmosphere of the poet’s home and the imagery of his stories, each participant will build and decorate their own little house, exploring shapes, colours, and creative details. At the end, all the houses will be illuminated, bringing to life a small Christmas neighbourhood or village full of light and magic. An activity that combines imagination, craftwork, and Christmas spirit, celebrating the holiday season in an artistic and poetic way.
