Based on what would have been the title of his book – Árvores São Casas de Pássaros – the poet José Efe invited twenty authors and artists to bring a tree to life. Through painting, drawing, collage, and graphic design, a small forest was created, consisting of forty distinct trees — plus one for the book cover — each accompanied by a poem written by the poet.
Taking the same name, the book was published, and an exhibition was also created, now presented at Casa Antero de Quental. This initiative is organized by the Centro de Estudos Anterianos in partnership with the Associação dos Jornalistas e Homens de Letras do Porto.
This visual poetry exhibition features works by Adias Machado, Alberto Péssimo, Alexandre Morais, Ana Biscaia, André Vaz, Augusto Baptista, Avelino Sá, Elisabete Pires Monteiro, Emerenciano Rodrigues, Emílio Remelhe, Francisco Duarte Mangas, Helena Mancelos, Ivo Machado, João Mascarenhas, João Pedro Mésseder, José Queiroga, Judy Rodrigues, Júlio Roldão, Marta Nunes, and Sílvia Mota Lopes.
The exhibition opening and book presentation will take place on March 28 at 4:30 PM at Casa Antero de Quental, with free admission.
